BIOGRAPHY

Jacob Walter is a digital artist based in Ohio and studies Fine Arts at the University of Cincinnati’s College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning (DAAP). His work is primarily animation and digital illustration
The medium Jacob uses to create art is both a reflection and a result of humanity’s quest to develop beyond what’s natural. The amount of defiance of the natural world is more prevalent in digital art than in any other medium. A different realm has been created on the screen, and while the work he creates exists physically in some abstract way through the hardware used to make it, it can only be viewed and experienced non-physically. The non-physical experience is important to his digital paintings and animations. They are meant to be seen on the internet or through a screen in general, he specifically wants to avoid his art existing in galleries because he believes they often artificially inflate art to make it not meant for the average person, but he strives for his work to be accessible and available for differing audiences.
